I’ve been a photojournalist since 1982, officially, when I graduated from the Military Photojournalism School at Syracuse University. I spent three more years in the Navy shooting and writing stories as a photojournalist after school for All Hands magazine. After being honorably discharged, I went on to work in newspapers and online.

I love spending time at the beach, no matter where that beach is, whether it’s the beautiful white sand beaches of the Hawaiian Islands, where I was lucky enough to have lived for four years, or the gorgeous California coast, or at the Jersey Shore — primarily in Ocean City, where I’ve spent years walking the boards and beaches the beaches from inlet to inlet, and jumping around in the surf.
